Information & photos were supplied by Neil Burston an ex speedway solo rider.

On Sunday, 2nd August 2009 there was a Sports Day re enactment at Appila, where they used to have cycle races, running races, back yard footy and Speedway Bikes and TQ's.

I had about 72 hours notice to organise a display.

We had 5 vehicles all together of which I had on display two of my bikes; the ex Jack Young AJW and the ex Gerry Hussey JAP which were both ridden by Port Pirie rider Bob Daws who owned both bikes in the late 50s early 60s at Appila.

TQ's were supplied by Keith Bichard with E7 JAP, Barry Beauchamp with John Holding's E 77 ESO and John Catford SA 8 JAP all of the vehicles actually raced there in the 60s and the old track can be seen in the back ground of some of the pictures.

Thanks must go to the TQ guys for bringing their cars up at such short notice.

Unfortunately we could not even start our bikes or cars due to insurance requirements.
