"Jim Silvy"

Jim Silvy passed away recently (2006) and is one of the "Legends of Speedway in South Australia".

Jim competed mainly in Solos and TQ's, within Speedway and he also rode Scrambles (Known as Motocross today) where he was very successful in all facets of his racing.

He won the South Australian Scrambles Championship 5 times and 1 Australian Scrambles Championship.

In Speedway, he was recognised with his rear engined JAP, SA No. 7, which is still on the tracks today as a Classic car, currently owned by Graham Masters.

Jim won a South Australian Three Quarter Speedcar Championship, beating other well known and hard competitors like Ray Foot, Bob Lane, Laurie Jamieson and Kevin Pilmore (Vic)

Jim worked for JN Taylor and he was sponsored by them, along with Golden Fleece.

On numerous occasions he drove Speedcars.
