The oil, oil filter, fuel filter, and air filter were changed about 6 thousand miles ago when we did all the grease points on the chassis. It takes about an hour to get the engine to start. Crank for 30 seconds then rest for 3 minutes then repeat.

Much more efficent (3126) engine-pretty sure that 3126 has a higher torque output. 3208 had a habit of using oil, loud, smoked when cold. The early 3126 had some problems with the copper seats that the injector seats in.

Get Price2021-8-29u2002·u2002The Cat 3126 had two engines both called 3126. The 3126A Cat was a good engine IMO had two of them in a repowered 41 Hatt. They never gave me one drop of trouble and were very fuel stingy. The 3126B was a huge problem and I would stay away from them. Different injection pump and aftercooler plus lots of other changes that had issues.

One was 275 and I think 750 ft. lbs. torque. Another 300 hp and 800 ft lbs. torque.

All the 3116's that I have ever seen had mechanical injection, most of the 3126's are the E model, which use HEUI injection. That system is very similar to what's on the 7.3L Powerstroke. They are both pretty reliable and make good power (up to 330 h.p.).
